Kuala Lumpur, 20 Mac 2025 – Alam Flora Environmental Solutions (AFES), anak syarikat milik penuh Alam Flora Sdn Bhd (Alam Flora) di bawah naungan Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff), terus memperkukuhkan komitmennya terhadap kelestarian alam sekitar melalui pendekatan inovatif yang bukan sahaja memberi impak kepada persekitaran, malahan juga menggalakkan penyertaan aktif masyarakat.
Selari dengan misi tersebut serta bersempena Program Santun Ramadan 2025, AFES telah memperkenalkan Recovery Initiative Sustainable Eco-facility (RISE KL) – sebuah pusat pemerolehan bahan kitar semula dan fasiliti Material Recovery Facility (MRF) – kepada pihak Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL). Langkah ini bertujuan bagi meningkatkan kesedaran masyarakat akan kepentingan kitar semula serta, memperkasakan pengurusan sisa mampan di ibu negara, sejajar dengan aspirasi kerajaan menjadikan Kuala Lumpur bandaraya rendah karbon dan lestari.
Mengetuai lawatan adalah Dr. Umi Binti Ahmad, JMW, AMW, Pengarah Jabatan Kesihatan Dan Alam Sekitar, DBKL, dimana mereka berpeluang menyaksikan sendiri bagaimana konsep Ekonomi Kitaran (Circular Economy) diterapkan dalam operasi kitar semula di Pusat Kitar Semula Pandu Lalu AEON BiG, Wangsa Maju, di bawah kendalian AFES. Lawatan ini bukan sekadar tinjauan, tetapi juga membuka ruang untuk DBKL memahami dengan lebih mendalam peranan pusat ini dalam memperkasakan amalan kitar semula yang lebih mampan di bandaraya.
Menurut Ketua Pegawai Operasi AFES, Azral Sufian, kehadiran pihak DBKL dalam program ini membuktikan kesungguhan memperkukuhkan usaha kolaboratif antara kedua belah pihak dalam menjadikan Kuala Lumpur sebuah bandaraya mesra alam demi kesinambungan kelestarian persekitaran dapat dikekalkan.
“RISE KL bukan sekadar sebuah fasiliti pengurusan kitar semula, tetapi juga merupakan pusat pendidikan yang memberi pengetahuan komprehensif mengenai amalan terbaik dalam kitar semula dan pengasingan sisa. Dengan kapasiti menguruskan sebanyak 65 tan sisa setiap
hari, fasiliti ini menyokong aspirasi kerajaan untuk meningkatkan kadar kitar semula negara kepada 40% menjelang 2025,” ujar beliau.
Sejak beroperasi pada tahun 2022, fasiliti RISE KL telah menguruskan sebanyak 5,324.1 tan metrik barangan kitar semula pada tahun tersebut, 6,108.9 tan metrik pada tahun 2023 dan angka ini meningkat kepada 7,012.7 tan metrik menjelang akhir tahun 2024. Ini membuktikan keberkesanan inisiatif AFES sebagai peneraju dalam meningkatkan kesedaran masyarakat dalam usaha kitar semula barangan terpakai.
Selain itu, AFES turut menjalankan pelbagai program kesedaran awam serta insentif bagi menarik minat masyarakat terhadap kitar semula. Antaranya ialah Program Buyback yang menawarkan ganjaran tunai bagi barangan kitar semula, penggunaan WOW Box (War on Waste), serta peraduan Scan & Score yang membolehkan peserta mengumpul Petronas Mesra Reward Points (Setel) untuk setiap bahan kitar semula yang dihantar.
Sebagai tambahan kepada fasiliti RISE KL, AFES juga mengendalikan beberapa Pusat Kitar Semula di sekitar Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur dan Putrajaya bagi memudahkan orang ramai mengamalkan gaya hidup lestari. Selain inisiatif kelestarian, Program Santun Ramadan 2025 turut menyaksikan pengagihan
1,000 bekas bubur lambuk kepada komuniti setempat di Kuala Lumpur dan Putrajaya.
Proses penyediaan bubur lambuk tahun ini dijalankan dengan kerjasama Surau Ibrahimiah di Kg. Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur. Pihak AFES bertindak sebagai pemudah cara dalam penyediaan, pembungkusan, dan pengagihan juadah tradisional ini kepada masyarakat di lokasi berikut:

AFES INTRODUCES RISE KL: A SUSTAINABLE FACILITY THROUGH SANTUN RAMADAN 2025 PROGRAMME
Kuala Lumpur, March 20, 2025 – Alam Flora Environmental Solutions (AFES), a wholly- owned subsidiary of Alam Flora Sdn Bhd (Alam Flora) under Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff), continues to strengthen its commitment to environmental sustainability through innovative approaches which does not only impact the environment, but also encourage active community participation.
In line with this mission and in conjunction with Santun Ramadan 2025 programme, AFES has introduced the Recovery Initiative Sustainable Eco-facility (RISE KL)—a dry recycling material recovery centre and Material Recovery Facility (MRF), to representatives from Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL). This initiative aims to raise public awareness on the importance of recycling and empower sustainable waste management in the capital city, aligning with the government’s vision of transforming Kuala Lumpur into a low-carbon and sustainable city.
The entourage, which was led by Dr. Umi Binti Ahmad, JMW, AMW, Pengarah Jabatan Kesihatan Dan Alam Sekitar of DBKL, had the opportunity to witness on how the circular economy concept is being implemented in recycling operations at AEON BiG Wangsa Maju Drive-Thru Recycling Centre, which being operated by AFES. This visit was not merely to observe the operations but also an opportunity for DBKL to gain greater insights of the centre’s role in strengthening sustainable recycling practices in the city.
According to Azral Sufian, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of AFES, DBKL’s participation in this programme highlights the commitment in strengthening collaborative efforts between both parties in making Kuala Lumpur an eco-friendly city while ensuring the continuity of environmental sustainability.
“RISE KL is not just a recycling facility, it also serves as an educational centre, offering comprehensive knowledge on best practices in recycling and waste segregation. With a capacity to process 65 tonnes of waste daily, this facility supports the government’s aspiration of increasing the national recycling rate to 40% by 2025,” he stated.
Since commencing operations in 2022, RISE KL has managed 5,324.1 metric tons of recyclable materials in its first year, 6,108.9 metric tons in 2023, and this figure has risen to 7,012.7 metric tons by the end of 2024. This demonstrates the effectiveness of AFES’ initiatives as a leader in raising public awareness and promoting the recycling of used materials. Additionally, AFES has implemented various public awareness programmes and incentives as to encourage community participation in recycling. Alongside its sustainability efforts, Santun Ramadan 2025 Programme also featured the distribution of 1,000 packs of Bubur Lambuk to local communities in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
This year’s Bubur Lambuk preparation was carried out in collaboration with Surau Ibrahimiah in Kg. Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur. AFES facilitated the packaging and distribution of this traditional Ramadan dish to the following locations:
